Catawba Falls

This is a very poplar hike and is it easy to see why. The trail is well packed with not a lot of rocks or tree roots. The climb is gradual and doable for my 7, 5, and 3 year old.

We went with other families and we had a great time making our way to the lower falls. There were old ruins of stone buildings from the 1920s. There was also one area we had to cross through ankle deep water so be prepared. The kids loved playing in the water once we got to the lower falls. You can also climb 580 additional steps up to the upper falls.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: There is a large parking area but later in the day it can overflow. There are bathrooms but they are port-a-johns and my kids won’t always go to the bathroom in a port-a-john.
